How to Listen to Any Show

There are several methods of listening to shows, each described below. Scroll through to view the various topic headings to find the option that works best for you.

Using the BlogTalkRadio Show Widget

You can listen to The Kim and Connie Show  or the The Other Half Show...with Kim du Toit anywhere you see one of the show widgets. This includes the current, live show or any archived show (depending on where the widget is displayed).

Each show listing on this site has a unique widget, just for that show. Click on the "Listen to Show" link to display the widget for that specific show.

After displaying the widget, click on the play button to start the show.

The show widget is available for both archived shows and future shows, but the widget for future shows does not appear until show time. Click on the "Listen to Show" link to play the show.

These widgets appear on this site, Facebook, as well as other sites that have kindly added our show widgets.

Some widgets are tied to a specific episode, others are more generic, showing show archives (such as the "Expanded" widget described below). The Promote Page lists the two types for the show. The widgets that appear within each show entry on this site are specific for the individual episode.

Expanded Widget

The top of the site displays a special expanded widget. It lists the current show and displays information for 4 more shows. Click the play button on the expanded widget to play the most recent show, or click on the title of one of the 4 previous shows to play that show.

Listening to a Live Show and Participating in the Live Chat

If you want to participate in the chat for a live show and listen to the live show simultaneously, click on the "BlogTalkRadio Episode Page" link. That will open a new page/window on the BlogTalkRadio website. You must have a BlogTalkRadio membership to participate in the chat. The membership is free and requires that you register. (It can take a few minutes for the registration email to be sent, after completing the registration process, so be sure to register at least 10 minutes before show time to participate as soon as the show starts.) You do not have to be a member of BlogTalkRadio to listen to a show, but membership is required for chatting.

The advantage of registering at BlogTalkRadio is that it also enables a "Click to Talk" button to display, enabling you to "call in" to the show using your computer's Internet connection (no toll charges and no phone usage). Of course, you must have a microphone on your computer to take advantage of this feature.

Manually Downloading a Show

About an hour after a show is broadcast, the show is available for manual download (in an mp3 format). You may listen to a downloaded show on your computer (using your computer's media player). For each show listing (after the show has been broadcast) there will be a heading "Download MP3" on the show listing. Right click on the "here" and save the file to a location on your computer, then double click (or open the file) to play it. (If you attempt this too early, before the show is ready for download, the download link will appear as "404.htm." That means the show isn't ready for download. Wait a bit longer and try again.)

Automatic Downloads -- iTunes Users

If you are an iTunes user, The Kim and Connie Show  and the The Other Half Show...with Kim du Toit are available through a combined iTunes RSS feed, allowing you to subscribe on iTunes. This downloads the shows to your iTunes for listening on your computer, or porting to your iPod, or similar devices.

How to Listen to or “Call In” to a Live Show

You may listen to a live show by clicking on any show widget, in the same way you would listen to an archived show. With a live show there are additional options available:

  • You may call in to listen (and participate in the show) by calling our show number at: 1 (347) 855-8684 (toll charges may apply). You can listen and/or press "2" to indicate you wish to talk to the hosts. This option allows you to listen/talk without needing a microphone on your computer, or to be near a computer to listen to the show.

  • If you register (for free) at BlogTalkRadio, you may also listen to the live show with a "Click to Talk" button, eliminating any toll charges to call in to the show. If you wish to participate in the show, you will need a microphone on your computer to talk to us.

  • A chat session is available on the The Kim and Connie Show  BlogTalkRadio page. We will monitor the chat session during the show, taking questions, and reading comments from listeners who participate in this way.
